| We
had the pleasure of visiting with Don Armacost at the NSRA Midwest
Regional show in Springfield in 2007. Here's the beautiful finished
product of his design. |

THE
BUILD
The Armacost's
finished a 34 Woody that is a Hercules body on a Pete & Jakes
frame. The motor is a stroked 350 with roller cam & roller
rockers, '64 Fuelie ported and polished double hump heads,
Vertex mag, and Rochester tri-power setup w/ a 700R4 tranny.
TCI front end, parallel leaf springs in rear with a modified
Ford 9".

are the closest to the real color of the car and the trailer.
Neither is quite finished but we are coming close. For creature
comfort the woody has a folding rear seat, two AC units, 10
disc CD changer, iPod adapter, Sony remote (marine type) to
control everything and tons of other goodies.

Like our
'32 Cabriolet it is subtle and one has to look at everything
to realize what has been done. For example, we figured out
how to have power windows rather than the mickey mouse Hercules
set up. The rear spare carrier is totally home built and swings
down out of the way and also is the access to the gas filler.
The dash is a modified '38 Ford and the window crank now operates
the cowl vent, another custom item for the Hercules body.
The seats are covered in leather and the door panels and other
accents are a combination of the leather and wicker.

The trailer
is complete except for the rear latching and striping. Running
boards will be covered and the interior is covered in black
felt material and has interior lighting.

Having
wire wheels that match the car is just one of the little extras
that take the trailer to the next level.

With
that stroked 350 pulling, this combo is going to make good time
getting to the shows and all the custom features will fill the
trailer with trophies.

The tail
lights are mounted a little
higher than most finished trailers.
